Since the beginning, ENGEL has been dedicated to producing high-quality garments that are both durable and functional. This commitment is reflected in our product development approach, where design and durability go hand in hand. We create workwear that withstands the demands of daily use, resists the wear and tear of repetitive tasks and tolerates extreme conditions commonly found in the workplace, including high-temperature industrial washes. From the fibres we select to the cut of each garment, every detail is carefully considered to ensure that ENGEL stands the test of time and delivers performance where it matters most.

Quality Control
Every product in the ENGEL collection undergoes thorough testing by our Quality Control team before production begins. This process is managed by specialists from Sourcing and Design, working alongside dedicated internal Quality Controllers and external partners operating in our on-site test facilities at production sites. Driven by our function-first design philosophy and commitment to quality since 1927, ENGEL rigorously tests fabrics, colour retention, hardware, finishes and specialist treatments such as water repellency and protective coatings. Testing can take days, weeks or even months, ensuring that every final product meets the highest standards for safety, efficiency and comfort in the workplace and is fully certified to industry requirements.

With ENGEL’s signature function-first design and its commitment to producing quality workwear apparel since 1927, there’s every reason for the thorough and rigorous testing of fabrics, colour retention, hardware, finishes and special repellent and protective treatments, to ensure that the final product makes the working day as safe, efficient and comfortable as possible.The result of this process - which can take days, weeks and in some cases months - results in a line of workwear that is 100% certified to the right quality and standards.

Sorona: Engineered for performance
Offering high-performance stretch without compromising on quality, ENGEL has incorporated Sorona into its collection, aligning with our efforts to reduce environmental impact. Sorona provides a superior alternative to other stretch materials, retaining its original shape for longer and offering excellent wrinkle resistance. Its unique production process involves harvesting crops and creating a high-performance polymer through fermentation and molecular bonding.

This innovative material brings several key benefits to the development of our workwear

We have incorporated Sorona into seven products in the GALAXY range, using both Sorona Agile and Sorona Aura variants. This reflects our commitment to integrating advanced materials that embody our ethos of quality wherever possible.

MULESING-FREE WOOL
Aligned with our high standards for ethics, ENGEL chooses mulesing-free wool for all thermal underwear products and woollen socks. Mulesing is a procedure performed on merino sheep to prevent flystrike but has been widely criticised for causing significant distress and pain to the animals. By sourcing only mulesing-free wool, we reinforce our commitment to ethical sourcing practices and animal welfare. We receive documentation in the form of certificates and tests confirming that the wool we purchase is mulesing-free. In addition, we require our partners to sign a binding declaration stating that they do not use wool from sheep that have been subjected to mulesing.
